COVID-19 SAFETY PLANS

All-American Basketball Academy wants to assure all of the communities we serve, that we take the health, safety, and well-being of your children very seriously.  We realize that parents are not only bringing their children to us to have fun, gain confidence, and improve their athletic ability, but they also entrust in us their child's safety. We have and will always take on that responsibility with the utmost care. That is why all of this year's programs will adhere, and in many cases go beyond, each State's COVID-19 guidelines of minimizing risk to participants.

We continue to monitor health organization reports, including updates from each States’ phased “rollout” plans, the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and others. All of the States as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have stated that our industry is considered a low-risk category, and advise companies like ours that run youth camps to take some basic precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.  That said, we will be going above and beyond all States’ “basic standard” wherever we host our programs.

CURRENTLY, WE ARE WORKING WITH PARK DISTRICTS, YMCA, AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO ENSURE THEY STILL HAVE SPACE, AND THEN APPROVE OUR SAFETY PLANS.  AS OUR PROGRAMS ARE APPROVED AND BECOME OPEN FOR REGISTRATION, THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE ON OUR WEBSITE UNDER THE “LOCATIONS” TAB AND YOUR CITY.  While I have no doubt they will all be approved, many states are limiting the size of groups within each program, and some will simply no longer have the space to accommodate independent contracted groups like ourselves because of maximum occupancy issues.

Below are the basic guidelines in the Stthat our company will follow (again above and beyond recommendations).

IL-Phase 3:

  • We will contact parents for pickup if any player complains/shows flu-like symptoms
  • At the start of each day, we will remind players to avoid touching their face
  • At the start of each day, we will remind players how to best cough
  • Each player must have their own source of water (no sharing or water fountains)
  • Players will use their own ball or have one assigned each day
  • We will sanitize basketballs at each break, before, and after each class
  • Coaches will be screened before each day begins, and any with symptoms will leave the site
  • (Phase 3 or 4 - IL) Programs will adhere to social distancing guidelines for youth camps.  We are capping all of our programs between 15 - 20 players.  Of those players, they will be split into groups to make sure they are not overlapping (Group 1 on court 1, groups 2 on court 2, etc...).  While that is well below what other camps may be taking, that is the maximum amount of players I feel we can still ensure they be kept as safe as possible.  This allows us to keep them apart during breaks, and with minimum to zero contact throughout the day.  I would advise anyone that if a camp has more than that amount of players together, find another option, even if it is not with us!

As All-American Basketball Academy continues to track developments, we will re-evaluate our policies and implement new procedures as circumstances change. Please be assured our focus is on the health and safety of our participants.
